Das Zucken im Krieg

the withdrawal at the bind

Meyer's Zucken. Step back as you snatch the blade out of the bind; step forward as you restrike the opening.

Meyer reformulates the Liechtenauer Zucken as a footwork exercise. The deception is created by the passing step backward; the strike is delivered by the passing step forward in the same tempo.
