Folio 1rItalian (Fiore)
Posta di Finestra
— window guard
Fiore's high point-forward guard. The Italian Ochs, with the same hands-by-the-ear shape and the same answers.
Posta di Finestra is the same posture the Germans call Ochs, taken on either side. Fiore treats it as a guard that 'is always ready with cover and with offence' — from it the thrust flies, the descending fendente is one tempo away, and any incoming cut may be met from above. The Window watches the opponent through the cross of the hilt.
