From Vom Tag the sword falls along the hanging line Meyer draws here — a diagonal from your right shoulder toward the opponent's left ear, face or chest. If they answer with their own Oberhau, the blades meet in a bind. Now everything depends on Fühlen, the feeling of pressure through the steel: if they are stiff at the cross, the point is free; if they are weak, the long edge wins. If they cut as you cut, the only safety is to cross your hands and slip offline.
