A horizontal counter-cut with crossed hands. The blade is sent across their hands or into the gap between head and weapon.

From the Wrath guard with the left foot forward, you step diagonally to the right as the opponent strikes. The hands cross, the long edge cuts horizontally across the line of their attack, the blade falling onto their hands or into the space between their head and blade. It is at once a displacement and a wound. Meyer treats the Krumphau as a relative of the Schielhau — both are diagonals delivered from the opposite shoulder — and warns that if the cut falls short, you must turn it into a Hanging Point so their blade comes down on yours, not on you. From here the natural follow-up is a Crosswise (Zwerch) above the head.
