Sturzhau

A high cut delivered from Ochs. The point plunges headlong toward the face before the cut carries through.

From Ochs you drop the point: not a thrust and not yet a cut, but a plunge along the upright line of Meyer's diagram. The point falls toward the opponent's face while the hands carry the hilt downward and forward, so the action ends in Vom Tag or runs straight on into a Zornhau. Meyer notes the Sturzhau belongs to the approach — to the moment when the opponent has not yet committed — and is mostly used in the onset rather than in the bind.
